What does IP65 mean on an LED tri-proof lamp fixture?

IP65 – More than just a number, it's a promise. IP65 stands for complete dustproof (the number 6 represents dustproof) and can withstand low-pressure water jets from any direction (the number 5 represents waterproof). Simply put: you can hose these lights down. You can install them under a leaky roof. You can put them in a car wash tunnel.

But we don't just claim IP65 certification. We test every batch of our products in our own lab. The test chamber is equipped with a nozzle that can spray water from 3 meters away at a flow rate of 12.5 liters per minute. We rotate the lights for 3 minutes, 3 minutes on each side. After the test, we turn on the lights to check for any moisture inside. The result shows zero water droplets. Then, we conduct a dielectric strength test – 1200V AC for 1 second. The result shows no current leakage. Only after passing these tests do we attach the IP65 label.

We also conduct random sampling tests, immersing the lights in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. Our protection rating is actually IP67, but we strive to exceed expectations.

Real-world Cases

Last year, an Indonesian customer purchased 500 of our lights for a tuna processing plant. Located by the sea in an open environment, the plant is constantly exposed to salt spray and requires daily washing. After 14 months, they reported zero failures. They recently ordered an additional 800 sets.

Another Canadian customer installed our lights in an unheated parking lot where winter temperatures drop to -35 degrees Celsius. No condensation occurred inside the lights, and the diffusers did not crack. Even in extremely cold conditions, the lights activated immediately.
