What is an LED T5 housing?

What is an LED T5 housing? You might say, "That's simple, it's just a series of accessories used to make LED tubes, including aluminum profiles, PC diffusers, and end caps." That's not wrong, but today we'll discuss this from a more professional perspective.

As mentioned above, the first component of an LED tube housing is the aluminum profile. As shown in the picture, this is a T5 aluminum profile base from our factory. Its main function is heat dissipation. LED tubes generate heat when lit, and excessive heat can affect the lifespan of the LED chips. If the LED tube's driver is internal, it will also affect the driver's lifespan. Therefore, the quality of the aluminum profile must be high, combined with a professional heat dissipation design, to extend the overall lifespan of the tube.

The second component is the PC diffuser. As shown in the picture, this is a T5 milky-white PC diffuser. Its main function is optical. While the transparent cover doesn't diffuse light, it's ideal for plant lighting because of its very high light transmittance, exceeding 95%. The light shines directly onto the plant, promoting growth. The milky-white PC diffuser makes light more uniform. With special fittings, it can achieve optical functions such as diffuse reflection and prisms.

Finally, there are end caps at both ends, as shown in the picture, the G5 end cap for T5 lamps. Its function is to install LED tubes. These end caps usually have power lines connected to the G5 ports for powering the lamps.

In addition to LED T5 housings, our factory also produces T6/8/10/12 lamp housings, as shown in the picture below.

These lamp housings can be fitted with different end caps according to project needs, including G5/13 and waterproof ones.

Our factory also produces some standard LED rugged lamp housings. These rugged lamp housings come in various sizes and shapes to meet the needs of different projects.
