Material Requirements for LED Traffic Track Light Housings

2025-10-29

LED track lighting has very specific application scenarios, so the material requirements for LED track light housings are relatively strict. Let's take a look at some common material requirements.

First, regarding material type, metal materials, such as aluminum alloy (e.g., 6063-T5), are generally used for heat sinks. Their advantages are:

1. High strength: LED track light housing must withstand vibration and wind pressure.

2. Excellent heat dissipation: They ensure the longevity of the LEDs, typically 3-5 years.

3. Corrosion resistance: The surface requires anodizing or spray coating to prevent color degradation and surface corrosion during use.

In addition, diffusers and end end caps are generally made of non-metallic materials, such as polycarbonate (PC), a common diffuser material. Their advantages are:

1.High strength and weather resistance: PC materials offer flame retardancy and anti-aging properties. Flame retardancy levels vary depending on the standards required by each country. For example, some require UL94 V0 rating, others V2, and others may require EN 45545-2 certification.

2. High Light Transmittance: PC has a high light transmittance, generally reaching 85-95%.
