Design Requirements for LED Track Lighting Housings

2025-10-23

In addition to the core requirements listed above, the following aspects must also be considered when selecting materials for the LED track light housing and designing the fixture:

First, the selection of materials and process: LED track light housings must be made of high-quality aluminum, typically 6063-T5. Because track lights are generally linear, we utilize an extrusion process to ensure housing strength and heat dissipation. Surface treatment generally requires only anodizing, which enhances corrosion and aging resistance.

Second, structural and installation stability: The LED track light housing should be compact and lightweight for easy installation in a variety of locations. Some internal layouts may separate the light-emitting components from the wiring assembly to simplify heat dissipation and maintenance. Of course, the accompanying mounting bracket must be sturdy enough to withstand the strong winds and vibrations of trains.

Finally, heat dissipation design impacts the lifespan of LED lamps: The lifespan and severity of light decay are entirely dependent on the operating temperature. Good housing heat dissipation design, such as using a transparent heat sink or integrating the housing and heat sink, can effectively mitigate light decay and ensure the lamp's lifespan. Some products utilize temperature control technology to maintain a stable operating temperature of the LED below 50°C.
