Dielectric Strength of Raw Materials for LED Tube Housing

The drop test and dielectric strength requirements of the raw materials of the LED tube housing are as follows:

 

1. Drop test

 

According to the requirements of the product standard, the product should be subjected to a drop test that simulates the drop that may occur during actual use. After the product falls from a height of 0.91m onto a hardwood board, the product shell cannot be broken to expose the dangerous live parts inside. Manufacturers must consider this strength requirement when selecting materials for product housings.

 

2. Dielectric strength

 

The transparent casing encloses the power module inside, and the material of the transparent casing must meet the requirements of electric strength. According to the requirements of the standard, based on the working voltage of 120V in the United States, the space between the internal high-voltage live parts and the shell (covered with metal foil for testing) must be able to withstand the dielectric strength test of AC 1240V. Under normal circumstances, the thickness of the product shell reaches about 0.8mm, which meets the requirements of the electric strength test.
